Jinxi Natural Gas Chemical Co., Ltd. (JNGCC) is a subsidiary company of Huajin Chemical Group. Ever since approved by the State in 1987 the enterprise had undergone three historic development phases: engineering construction, set up reorganization and restructuring & ownership transfer. JNGCC is a large-scale state owned enterprise, which integrates purchase, production, research and development, marketing, transportation and information management into a whole, and has comprehensive capabilities of advanced process monitoring, quality controlling, equipment maintenance and environment protecting.

JNGCC is the first large-scale chemical fertilizer enterprise using offshore natural gas as raw material in China. The total investment is 2.01 billion Yuan. The designed capacity is 300 thousand tons/year of ammonia and 520 thousand tons/year of urea. The ammonia unit adopts the cryogenic purification process of KBR USA, and the urea unit adopts the ammonia stripping process of Snamprogetti Italy. The whole plant is characterized by large production capacity, low energy consumption and high automation. The process is controlled by DCS, which possesses international advanced standard at the end of 1980’s.

JNGCC is located in Huludao City, a famous opening city along the western seaside of Liaoning province. JNGCC is next to Beijing-Shenyang expressway, Beijing-Harbin railway and Qinhuangdao-Shenyang express railway. It is 15 km away from JNGCC to Huludao Harbor, 40km to Jinzhou Harbor and 150km to Yingkou port. It enjoys unique advantages of convenient transportation of railway, highway and shipment.

The factory covers an area of 23 hectares. It has 10 workshops, 21 sections and 4 auxiliary administration units. Now there are 1836 staffs, among which technical personnel in various specialties are 557, takes up 31% of the staff. Among these technical personnel, there are 1 doctor postgraduate, 10 master postgraduates, 2 visiting scholars abroad with state support, 7 professor researchers of engineering, 8 persons enjoying the Government Specialist Subsidy, 118 senior engineers and 197 engineers. In the past ten years, JNGCC obtained 17 science and technology awards of above city grade, conducted more than 50 technological innovations to the exist importing plant, made the plant production capacity rising by 10%.

Slow-release urea, product of the State 863 Planning Project, was put into commercial production in February 2004.

The first stage of ERP project, financial integration, was put online on March 2004.

A methanol plant of 60kt/a capacity adopting domestic technology was in commercial run in May 2004.

A DMC (Dimethyl Carbonate) plant of 10kt/a capacity adopting transesterification technology was put into operation in May 2004.
